Ingredients of Sponge Cake

  1. Make ready 5 of egg yolks.
  2. It’s 1 of egg.
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup of melted butter.
  4. You need 100 ml of milk.
  5. It’s 1/2 cup of all purpose flour.
  6. It’s 1/4 cup of corn flour.
  7. It’s 5 of egg whites.
  8. It’s 1/4 tsp of salt.
  9. Take 1/2 cup of white sugar.

Sponge Cake instructions

  1. Melt butter and blend with milk.
  2. Add flour and corn flour.
  3. Whisk in the egg yolk one at a time and set aside..
  4. On a sepate bowl, whisk the white eggs together with salt.
  5. Slowly add the white sugar and whisk until it forms stiff peaks.
  6. Fold in approximately 1/3 egg whites to the batter.
  7. Fold in the batter to the egg whites.
  8. Transfer to the prepared pan and bake at 150° celcius for 90 minutes on a water bath.
